Turkey Earthquake Fundraiser

Hello everyone, thank you for taking the time to read the message and being interested in helping. This Sunday, we will be hosting a fundraiser to help people in need following the tragic earthquakes in Turkey. The earthquakes were a magnitude of 7.9 and 7.6, covering an area larger than Czech Republic. Thousands of people who survived need help for shelter, food, medical services as well as other basic and fundamental needs.

As a group of PFS students, we want to help survivors who were rescued from the thousands of entirely collapsed buildings, and the people who are still under debris.

To make this happen, at the event, we will have details on how you can donate to trusted, non-governmental organizations that are working day and night, saving lives. We will also have Venmo details of trusted volunteers in the States, as well as a cash box in which the exact amount of money will be sent to these NGOs. We understand that we are all students and on a budget. Hence, it is not expected of you to make a huge contribution. In fact, due to the currency rates in Turkey, even the amount that you spend on a coffee or a meal makes a significant difference.

Anything counts, and means everything to people in need. We will be serving Turkish food during the evening. We hope to see you there.
