Prima Nota Inc
Prima Nota Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation based in South Australia, created by and for Russian-speaking migrants — with a spirit of openness to all.
We are a community of artists, musicians, volunteers, and cultural workers who believe that creativity is not a luxury — it’s a lifeline. Especially for those finding their place in a new country.
Through choirs, festivals, game nights, and workshops, we create spaces where migrants can build confidence, preserve heritage, share laughter, and feel deeply at home — while inviting others in.
At Prima Nota Inc., our mission is to uplift and connect Russian-speaking migrants through cultural expression, creative participation, and community-building — while welcoming collaboration across diverse communities.
We use music, storytelling, and tradition as tools for belonging, integration, and joy.
Cultural Empowerment
We honour and celebrate the cultures, languages, and stories that migrants carry — and help them grow roots in new soil.
Inclusivity with Intent
We serve Russian-speaking migrants first — but we open our doors wide to others. Our programs are designed to include newcomers, neighbours, and those seeking meaning through culture.
Creativity as Community Care
We believe that creativity is essential to wellbeing. It connects people, heals wounds, and creates bridges where language can’t.
Integrity & Respect
We work with honesty, mutual respect, and transparency — valuing lived experience as much as professional skill.
Shared Leadership
We build spaces where migrants are not just participants but leaders — shaping programs, representing their communities, and inspiring others.
The First Note
Our name, Prima Nota, means “the first note.” It symbolises the beginning of something — a song, a story, a new connection. And for many in our programs, it really is the first note of their new life in Australia.
We believe that integration doesn’t mean erasing identity — it means expressing it, sharing it, and letting it evolve in a new home.
