Debris Free Oceans

Debris Free Oceans is a Miami-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to empowering Miami-Dade communities to go zero-waste! Through education, community events, and sustainability consulting, we're building the cultural and infrastructural capacity needed to transition from a throwaway culture toward systems that prioritize reduction and reuse, so everyone can enjoy clean oceans and healthy environments.

Since 2014, we've been working to make zero-waste an accessible reality in Miami-Dade -- giving residents the tools and knowledge to rethink single-use consumption and embrace lifestyles with more action and less clutter. This begins with understanding how the 5Rs (rethink/redesign, reduce, reuse, recycle/compost, and recapture) can be incorporated into all facets of society.
