Ella Dufrene
I’m an intuitive painter and an art therapist, but above all, I am human, and my mission in life is to help other humans who are longing for a deeper love and understanding of themselves through the power of free creative expression. I received my Masters in Art Therapy & Creativity Development from the Pratt Institute in 2015.
Together, we’ll paint, draw, sculpt, collage, and explore other forms of creativity. I’ve worked with people who felt disconnected from their happiness and uninspired by the pressures of life. Through the magic and science of art therapy, I’ve seen them transform into happier, more curious, more satisfied versions of themselves.
My goal is to inspire my clients to rediscover their creative mastermind, without judgement. I am not an art teacher, and when we work together, there is no right or wrong way to express yourself. I am here to guide you on a creative journey of self-exploration, personal growth, and connection to yourself and the world around you.
I offer in-person and virtual art therapy sessions. I use a holistic approach to wellness and a playful ‘person first’ approach to therapy.
I am also the creator and leader of Madre Tierra Creative Arts and Yoga Retreats, born from my passion for the healing properties of nature, art and movement. The focus of each retreat is a complete immersion in nature, with daily yoga and creative workshops. Past retreats have been held in Colombia, Georgia, and Colorado; and we are heading to Costa Rica in 2021.
My clinical experience is with people on the autism spectrum, children and adults with special needs and developmental delays, drug/alcohol addiction, hospice, eating disorders, psychiatric rehabilitation, oncology, as well as adults and children in both individual and group settings.
