NSF Convergence Accelerator

Launched in 2019, the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Convergence Accelerator builds upon basic research and discovery to accelerate solutions toward real-world impact. In April 2024, NSF formally announced its plan to scale the NSF Convergence Accelerator from a single NSF program to a national program with 10 regionally focused NSF Convergence Accelerators to enhance national and regional competitiveness in research, innovation and workforce development.

As part of this regional expansion, a series of events are scheduled to take place in three stages from spring 2024 through fall 2027. The events will raise awareness of NSF, the Directorate for Technology, Innovation and Partnership (TIP) and the NSF Convergence Accelerator, while also providing insights into the roles and responsibilities of the regional NSF Convergence Accelerator lead, called a Regional Anchor, and how regional stakeholders can participate in the program.

Convergence Accelerator Regional Expansion Events are currently on hold. We welcome our colleagues, partners and stakeholders from academia, industry, nonprofits, government and other communities of practice to click on the “Follow” button at the top of this message to sign up for event updates. We look forward to meeting you at one of our future events. Learn more about the Convergence Accelerator at: https://new.nsf.gov/funding/initiatives/convergence-accelerator
