Society for Old Lucan (SOL) works to conserve, research and promote Lucan’s local history, heritage, archaeology and folklore.

SOL was founded in 2017 by a group of local history/archaeology enthusiasts and is a very active group. The committee is made up of Paul Butler (Chair) Helen Farrell, Elaine Hurley, Darren Tully, Paul Butler, Jonathan Cully (Secretary), Ber Boylan, Ray Stallings and Lesley Jenkins Blairsdale. Past committee members include Billy Sines and Stephen Callaghan.
